Description

Maja Sever graduated in stage acting at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television, University of Ljubljana. A member of the Drama resident ensemble since 1993, she has appeared in various roles of classical and contemporary repertoires and in performances of diverse direction poetics. She is a versatile and resourceful actress.  In 1999, she won the Borštnik Award for her role of Susannah in Barker’s The Europeans. In 2016, she wrote and directed a play for children, Peter Klepec, or How to Become a True Hero. In addition to her work in theatre she has been involved for 35 years in translating and dubbing animated series for the Slovenian national television and is a recipient of a translation prize for the animated series The Jungle Book, presented annually by the Association of Slovenian Film and Television Translators. In recent years she has been involved in directing cartoons. She represents the Slovenian Association of Dramatic Artists in the International Federation of Actors (FIA) and its campaigns. A founding member and deputy chairman of the Association of Slovenian Audio-visual Actors and its representative in the KRAFFT collective which organizes the 1st International Actors Film Festival in Kranj, Slovenia, Sever is also an member of KUD Tango.si aimed at promotion of Argentine tango.
